Our November LAN went really really good. After it was so long we had a LAN we got many happy gamers. 40 people attend this event. Games that were played was Call of duty 4, Call of duty 5, Far cry 2, Quake 3, Dota, and some more I can't remember.

We hope to see you all and more at our December event the last event for the year. Lets go make it a event to remember. So please let all your friends know about the event.

Ok our August LAN went really really well. 40 people showed up. The competition started as stated at 22:00 with 8 teams registered. There was some really good competition. Teams entered was. UbS, Ozas, POG, Darkstar, Zero Gravity, ZG Germans, TIT-A, TIT-B. The final was a really tight game with Zero gravity that win with just 30 points more than team POG.
 
Games that were being played: Grid, Call of duty4, Team Fortress 2, Counter-Strike, Dota, Quake 3, and some more I can't remember.

WOw would be cool.  will hopefully make the next OD4 comp 2vs2 TDM. With limited perks and red dot sight. we will make it all the smaller maps like vacent, Killhouse, showdown and maybe will try and get some small custom maps.
 
Maybe with the Grid comp we will maybe take some of the assists off to make it a challenge. The game is to easy with the assists.

What is a LAN party?

A lan party is where a group of people come together and connect there pc's to one another using a Switch. not only do people play games the whole time they also get to copy some series, movies, games, music, etc. Normally the Lanners get to meet some new friends at a LAN. Start Date: Friday, 19 December 2008, Start Time 18:00
End Date: Saturday, 20 December 2008, End Time 14:00
Entrance Fee: R60 per registered pc
Age Group: All-Ages
Snack bar: Available at all hours.

DIRECTIONS:
Take the N4 heading to Witbank.
Turn left on the Watermeyer st. off-ramp to Meyerespark.
Turn right in Van Niekerk st.
Then turn right in Rabie st,
left in Emmerentia st
and right in Nicolette st.
the church is on the cnr of Emmerentia and Nicolette st.
The entrance is in Nicolette st.
Limited secure parking is available. 
You can ring the bell next to the gate if it is closed.

WHAT TO BRING:

  • Bring your PC (screen, box cables, etc).
  • We only supply one plug per person, so if you need to, bring a multi-plug and a double adapter.
  • Bring headphones, as speakers are not allowed.
  • Bring all your drivers and Windows install cds in case you need to format.
  • If you want to sleep, bring a sleeping bag, pillow and blanket etc.

Event you are registering for.
Your name
Your nickname
Your surname
contact number
The name of your Clan (if you are in a clan or if you are friends that want to sit together)
FROM NOW ON WE WILL NOT BOOK A PERSON IF HE DOESN'T PROVIDE ALL OF THE ABOVE.

Note: Friends must be in clan to be seated together so make a name up.
You will be notified if we are fully booked

Rules

RULES
Note that we are very strict on the rules 


  • Check the blog regularly for any changes that might occur, such as the date of an event moving.
  • Any game will be played just as long as you can find someone to play it with. We have FEAR Combat, FLATOUT2 and many other games.
  • There will be a security guard at the LAN from 18:00 until 06:00 of every LAN event.
  • No alcohol allowed (please respect the rules of the church) people that bring alcohol or be in the influedince of alcohol will be banned and told to leave.  
  • Smoking only allowed outside the building.
  • Bad behavior will not be allowed, please report any bad behavior to the organizers.
  • Leaching is allowed only Saturday morning from 3:00 - 7:00 we will be very strict in the future and people that only come to leach may as well stay at home
  • Anti-virus software is a must (Latest updates for AVG are available).
  • No network scanning software is allowed!!! If you are caught using any kind of IP/Network Share/PC Information scanning or hacking software, you will be asked to leave. (eg. using LANGUARD).
  • If you are caught cheating you will be banned from future Merriment LAN events.
  • No viewing of porn.
  • Newest patches and drivers will be available from our server.
  • You are not allowed to bring your own switches, hubs, routers, gateways or any other such devices.
  • The name of the person using a certain IP address will only be given out if you have a valid reason.
  • Persons who did not register will pay R80 instead of the usual R60.
  • Registered players will be given available seats.
  • If you registered and can't attend the LAN please let us know or you seatings will not be booked for future LAN events.
  • Registrations will end the day before the LAN
  • Registered players have until 20:00 to attend or else their seats might be given away to other players.
  • If you are going to be late please let us know.
